greyson steps out of thin air, his form pulling together from wisps of inky black. he gives the trainer in-front of him an appraising look, and a welcoming smile. "keenan toral. welcome. i trust you've been appraised of the rules."

a closed door with a red LED that says 'stand-by' silhouettes him, and violet eyes flash with curiosity. "once you enter this door your challenge will begin. i will remind you again not to harm any civilians you might see, recklessly damage the enviorment, or attempt to kill and or maim any pokemon." with that out of the way...

"any questions before we start?"

"not bad," he remarks to himself, and his small entourage of pokemon, watching the challenger's progress through the many, many cameras. the receptionist that normally mans the desk flinches slightly, at the holes dug into the road, but greyson waves it off with a smile. "it's a good strategy, and not one many would think of, so we'll let it be. we'll just fill them after."

with a combination of DIG and WATER GUN, the issue proves quick to resolve. while these people are far from same - little is in the face of a rampaging titan - they'd have been in a much worse condition without keenan's help. many thank him profusely, tear stained eyes and soot marked skin, sporting mostly minor wounds. "thank you! you saved us!" screams one woman, hugging keenan with a quick ferocity, before moving off to the side.

in the distance, a RED, YELLOW and BLUE FLARE burst brightly.

perhaps surprisingly to keenan, the destruction of the city didn't feel fake, or like a simulation in the slightest. the sight, the smells, and even the fear, it was all so real it was almost tangible. so when he opens the door, expecting his next challenge, there's not a single noticeable trace of an illusion.

keenan is met with the woosh of air as a long serpent passes in-front of him, it's long emerald hued form turning brick buildings into little more than dust, and debris. a large cloud of it kicks up in the wake of a buildings destruction, and the legendary roars in challenge, or triumph - or both.

the massive serpent isn't done, however. it turns on a dime, like a game of snake from the 80s, and just narrowly avoids it's tail. there, it hovers, piercing amber hues staring down and catching the only human crazy enough to stand before him.

then, it begins to form a technique in it's maw.

the FIRE BLAST does a good job at deterring the legendary — for a moment. but, it was like a fly trying to go toe-to-toe with a semi-truck. shaking it off, the legendary fires off the HYPER BEAM he'd been preparing.

it collides against the PROTECTION the hounddoom summons, but in mere moments, the spiderwebbing cracks appear on its surface. the strength of a legendary exceeds common sense, and while keenan had reacted quickly, the difference in strength was just too much. the blast consumes the hounddoom and just narrowly misses Keenan Toral . it's enough however, to lift the trainer off of his feet, and send him hurtling back inside the room.

when he stands again, his pokemon is gone. the victorious roar that echoes is enough to shatter windows and rattle buildings.

death was a very real possibility in this line of work. to accept the risks, was to accept that you, nor your pokemon, were ever truly safe. it was a lesson that no one wanted to learn, but many still had too.

rayquaza shook its tail, lashing it back and forth with amusement. it crashed and tore through brick buildings like they were mud, but the legendary didn't even notice. it shifts it's attention towards the far off distance, at an approaching helicopter and it's missiles. in a flash, the legendary brings it down beneath the onslaught of its HYPER BEAM.



smoke still trails from its mouth as keenan makes his move. the god hisses and trills in rage, opening it's mouth to spew more of its power, but finds it does not have the energy to do so. consecutive blasts wore out even gods, it seemed. that doesn't faze the beast for long however, it's wirey frame dashing forward fast enough to scatter smoke and debris everywhere.

globlets of STICKY WEB land, covering it's mouth and nostrils with the goo. it only enrages the god further, until finally, one lands and covers one of his eyes. rayquaza recoils, giving Keenan Toral enough time to dash into the alley. his vikavolt is smart, layering the entrance in the same thick webbing.

seconds later, the god crashes into it, one small arm thrashing wildly into the space, desperately clawing at Keenan Toral and his pokemon. instead, it meets the thick webbing, and though it tears through it easily, the precious seconds count.

it's nearly to the alley's exit, that rayquaza finally stops its thrashing and instead opens its mouth and surges out a massive, steel melting FLAMETHROWER into the space.

RAYQUAZA the king-serpent meets your challenge head-on! having to recharge from its consecutive use of HYPER BEAM, it attacks head-on. luckily, the STICKY WEBS distract it long enough for Keenan Toral to escape. as he nears the end of the alleyway, a FLAMETHROWER is reared back towards him.
